Public bug reported:
AMD64 installation of Ubuntu 7.10. Earlier this week I had a Dell
2407WFP(Rev A04) which was detected correctly by the Choose Screen ->
Detect option in the Screen and Graphics Preferences. Yesterday, I
replaced the Dell 2407WFP (Rev A04) with a Dell 2407WFP-HC (Rev A00 /
Manufactured 9/2007). This new monitor is still a 24" widescreen from
Dell, but it's an update version with a High Color gamut(92% vs 72%).
When I click on Detect it selects Generic -> Plug 'n' Play instead of
Dell -> 2407WFP (Digital) like it was before. When I manually select
Dell -> 2407WFP (Digital), Ubuntu works as it should.
