Public bug reported:

I haved a good dualboot xp/ubuntu 16.04 lts when i accepted to update to 16.10. 
Since this, ubuntu 16.10 cannot recognize my network and fail to connect to 
internet. I tried to come back to the version i used before. But i cannot, even 
i used a usb key, or a dvd distribution i receive from ubuntu. Each time, same 
error I/O and message. I format reformat and rereformat, using gparted... in 
vain, from ten days...
What's the solution?
