Public bug reported:

I have an Acer Aspire 5100
with the 64 bit X2 Turion

Since yesterday after updating, I have been having noticeably slower
performance.
Firefox will crash and close and then be unable to reopen.
Suddenly nothing will save and the system reports I/O problems - presumably the
inability to write to disk?
I was trying to save a document in SciTex editor and it said that it was not
able to save because of the I/O problem.
It is not permissions.
I have also noticed that the system monitor in the panel tray appears to be
handling the cpu distribution differently.
Maybe It's just me, but it seems like it has changed so I thought perhaps it is
a kernel issue if threading has been
changed for multicore systems.

Sorry for being so vague, but it is so global in scope. I will give more
exact errors as I can.
