Public bug reported:
Since ibus did not work for me (it ignored any configured layout and
always used english) I tried to install fcitx as a workaround. Fcitx
works, yet I am not able to type in á by pressing = and a, only by
pressing the "8" key. Yet this only apparently applies to KDE
applications such as kwrite and konsole - apparently OpenOffice Writer
nor Chromium is unaffected by this bug and correctly responds to =a by
typing in á.
