As can be seen above, except in one instance I've mostly enjoyed several
hours of work before the issue hit me.

Grepping syslog for kernel versions it looks like the earliest I've had
this happen was with 4.10.0-15. Previously I had been running with
4.10.0-14 since at least Apr  5 17:20:50 (earliest syslog timestamp
still on filesystem).
