you cannot use that option, with dasd drives. as dasd drives only
support maximum three partitions..... and separate /home /var /tmp and /
need 4.

one can use that option on e.g. multipath / zfcp drives; or kvm-qemu
virtio drives.

i guess recipes should be modified to guard against offering that
option; but do not that this option is not offered by default, have you
changed the priority of debconf? Because there are countless paths in
low priority d-i for shooting oneself in the foot.
