you cannot use that option, with dasd drives. as dasd drives only support maximum three partitions..... and separate /home /var /tmp and / need 4.
one can use that option on e.g. multipath / zfcp drives; or kvm-qemu virtio drives. i guess recipes should be modified to guard against offering that option; but do not that this option is not offered by default, have you changed the priority of debconf? Because there are countless paths in low priority d-i for shooting oneself in the foot. ** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Summary changed: - Z system guided partitioning fails with too many partitions + Z system guided partitioning, with separate paritions for everything, on dasd drives, fails with too many partitions -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1683871 Title: Z system guided partitioning, with separate paritions for everything, on dasd drives, fails with too many partitions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1683871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
