Hi, thank you for your report. >From the log: mysql_upgrade: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) while connecting to the MySQL server Upgrade process encountered error and will not continue. mysql_upgrade failed with exit status 11
So it seems your server was not able to start after the upgrade. I didn't see and log or config that obviously explains why. You could try to follow [1] to check what is going on on your system and report back here. Another approach often successful is to check the config files of mysql to make sure it properly starts before the update and to hold no configuration statements that will be invalud after the upgrade. Therefore please report what the following commands report for you prior and after the try to update?: $ systemctl status mysql $ sudo find / -type s -name '*mysql*' [1]: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11990708/error-cant-connect-to- local-mysql-server-through-socket-var-run-mysqld-mysq ** Changed in: mysql-5.7 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685026 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 5.7.17-0ubuntu0.16.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: il sottoprocesso installato script di post- installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1685026/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
