Hi Franco, thank you for your report - lets try to look into it together. What happens in your case is that after package upgrade the samba server is not (re-starting. That is part of the upgrade process, but can be affected e.g. by a mis-configuration of the server.
You can check before (and after) the update what the following command is reporting: $ systemctl status smbd.service That way we will learn if it was not started before the upgrade or if it is only failing due to the upgrade. The output will also help to spot most obvious issues as it contains a snippet of it status messages. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685295 Title: package samba 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1685295/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
