Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I am using an Asus Z35FM laptop.

When running on AC power, the "set display brightness" for AC power
controls the screen brightness, and the one for the battery does not, as
is expected.

However, when running on battery power, the AC power brightness slider
controls the brightness! And when you change the brightness slider for
the battery higher, the screen gets dimmer! This is strange behaviour.

Also, when the mouse is put over the power manager icon to invoke the
tooltip to display things such as pow0r time remaining, it says

"
Computer is running on battery power
Laptop battery 2 hours 45 minutes remaining (88%)
Battery discharge time is estimated
"
This is normal except for the last line. What does that mean, and why is it
there? Should it be there?

The method of installing Gutsy on this laptop was updating from an
installation of Feisty, what had been updated from Edgy. I haven't any
gutsy liveCDs, so I cannot test it with those.
