Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: wine

Before running a wine session, the mouse pointers appear as they should, no
matter what theme is used.
Once wine is run, the mouse is still OK, until you move the cursor overtop of a
wine window. At this point it switches to the windows mouse cursor, as it
should.

Upon leaving the window, the cursor goes back to the X11 mouse theme,
however it is rendered in what appears to be black and white. Sometimes
the cursor is all black, and sometimes it is white and black, but there
is no greyscale to the cursor at all, which leaves the edges looking
very pixelated. In addition, semi-transparent mouse themes will render
in a grainy 1-bit black and white form.

Switching mouse themes does not fix it, although the theme does change.
The only way to get the mouse cursor back is to restart the X server.

I'm using the r128 driver for my ATI Rage128. I'll try switching the
'ati' driver and post the results.
