Public bug reported:
Using fully updated Ubuntu Gnome 17.04:
When writing an ISO file from a USB 3.0 port to a USB3.0 hard drive, the
copying process takes much longer than any other ISO writing program (ie
20 minutes to write a 1GB file).
Also, it shows the data write speed as being 80MB/s. This must be wrong,
as the .iso once written was only 2.6GB, and if that was an accurate
speed the writing would've been complete in less than a minute.
Checked on Samsung and Sandisk USB drives and on an Asus Z170 Pro mother
and Asus UX305CA laptop.
