i go to system > interface > skin > configure skin
and set home window options to hide music and exit kodi then launch it again

skin settings should have been saved

but they weren't
SOLUTION:
when i run kodi with sudo (root), and set the settings and launch it saves the
skin settings
so i guess the issue is with premissions.
