Your apt sources.list file (/etc/apt/sources.list) seems to be
misconfigured in particular these lines are of some concern.

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu yakkety universe main
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu jessie main # auto generated by
ubuntu-release-upgrader
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu wily contrib # auto generated by
ubuntu-release-upgrader

You should actually have entries that look like:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial-security main universe
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xeninal-updates main universe

Not the yakkety, jessie, or wily lines I see. After fixing your
sources.list file I'd try updating and then running the release upgrade
process.
