Thanks for your bug report! The slow speeds are to be expected with the
amount of traffic the servers have been getting from this major release.
I would expect that this is mostly going to go away in the next couple
of days. Also, the update utility is going to pick a server to pull
updates from a list of about thirty. If the speed is unacceptable you
can go to System-> Administration -> "Software sources" and choose a
different server from the list. If you feel like that's not sufficient
and there is something else going on please feel free to re-open the bug
report and include what server and transfer speeds that you are getting.
