Public bug reported:
After installation of ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) from liveCd in my laptop,
ubuntu can't detect my dvd-rom.
I detected some modules loaded with the liveCD that are missing later, when I
launch ubuntu from hd:
ide-cd, cdrom, ide-generic
If I add this modules to /etc/modules, I get this from /var/log/syslog:
Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 7.00alpha2
ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx
ide0: I/O resource 0x3F6-0x3F6 not free.
ide0: ports already in use, skipping probe
ide1: I/O resource 0x376-0x376 not free.
ide1: ports already in use, skipping probe
lp: driver loaded but no devices found
When I pass to grub a "break=top" and load manually previous modules, I
get this from syslog:
Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver Revision: 7.00alpha2
ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx
Probing IDE interface ide0...
Probing IDE interface ide1...
Finally, I tried to make another initrd including the previous modules,
but I got a kernel panic.
