Public bug reported:
Ubuntu will not boot on my ASUS UX501VW-FJ045T, no matter what options I
try to use in GRUB.
I tried NOMODESET, NOAPIC, NOLAPIC but it all fails and I end up with an
endless loading splash screen.
I disabled the splashscreen deleting the SPASH option in GRUB, and I
could see that the system hangs when trying to detect the GPU(s) showing
the message:
"A start job is running for detect the available GPUs and deal with any system
changes "
The laptop features Optimus technology, with an Intel HD Graphics 530 and an
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
You can see the error in the picture attached to the report.
Ubuntu version: UBUNTU GNOME 17.04 X64
I am more than willing to help with this with further testing or information,
if needed
Thank you!
