Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

it is actually a LONG story how i was upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy, i
just have one little suggestion for you guys - DO NOT EVER LET THE
UPGRADE SYSTEM UPGRADE ALL OF PACKAGES INSTALLED

if you have made a distro you must sure know what packages should be
upgraded to move from old distro to new one

make a separate repository sources for update program and upgrade only
those packages and let me deal with others myself

my upgrade was about 1GB downloaded from internet and it was like 4-5
times i have started upgrade program because it was interrupting, it was
freezing, it was just exiting without a word, like 20 times i have
started adept_manager and aptitude from KDE and pty terminal because
adept was failing every 10 applications it had upgraded, i was
restarting the system few times and so on

actual bug i am reporting about is that i have upgraded(?) to gutsy,
upgraded all 1000 applications and there is still button "Version
upgrade" in adept_updater

i guess all of that could be avoided with making upgrade procedure much
easier and touch only the distro related packages :)

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
