Public bug reported:

Since the upgrade of Thunderbird to 52.1.1 remotely mounted folders no
longer show up in the attach dialog window.

- What is happening

In nautilus mount a folder ("Connect to Server") from a remote server -
smb:// or ssh:// are the two I have tried.

Start a new email and go to attach a file from the remote folder. The
shared folder is not visible in the attach file dialog but is visible in
nautilus
