with kernel 4.12, powertop still report Audio codec using 100% but my laptop is not slow ! This happens only with kernel 4.10. Regarding Ubuntu 16.10, I've upgraded my laptop from 16.04 to 16.10 and then to 17.04 in a row, but I don't remember any issue with 16.10. I think we could close this ticket or if you have some test that I could launch, I am at your disposal.
