Public bug reported:

Installer crashed after selection to erase drive.  Drive has prior
UStudio installed alongside defunct version of Windows 98.  Hardware is
an old, tired, HP Pavilion.  First attempt was with default;  probably
would have worked, but I went back one step, changed to "format drive"
option, that failed with error "no root directory specified", stepped
back, selected "erase" option, and then failure message appeared and
installer went to bu report...
