Hi guys, i also still have the same problem. My mini-pci card Intersil Corporation ISL3890 [Prism GT/Prism Duette]/ISL3886 [Prism Javelin/Prism Xbow] (rev 01) refuses to connect to a network with a hidden ssid. I have Ubuntu gutsy with the latest updates (networkmanager 0.6.5-Oubuntu16) and as encryption WPA-PSK. When i set my router to broadcast the ssid it works. If you need further information about my hardware or settings just let me know.
