I believe I also have this issue - my 128G card is not automounted, and it's not possible to mount it.
I'm running 16.04.2, 4.4.0-79-generic, x86_64, and I have exfat-utils and fuse-exfat installed. fdisk shows the card as Disk /dev/sdh with only 1.9 MiB capacity, but below shows a filesystem on it of 119.2G, which I guess is correct if overhead is taken into account, and on /dev/sdh1. However, no sdh1 file exists on my filesystem in /dev. See the output of fdisk, parted and dmesg below: fdisk -l Disk /dev/sda: 931.5 GiB, 1000204886016 bytes, 1953525168 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: dos Disk identifier: 0x0004006b Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sda1 * 2048 976895 974848 476M 83 Linux /dev/sda2 978942 1953523711 1952544770 931G 5 Extended /dev/sda5 978944 20508671 19529728 9.3G 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sda6 20510720 117188607 96677888 46.1G 83 Linux /dev/sda7 117190656 1953523711 1836333056 875.6G 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdb: 931.5 GiB, 1000204886016 bytes, 1953525168 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: dos Disk identifier: 0x0004ce71 Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdb1 63 1953520064 1953520002 931.5G 83 Linux Disk /dev/sdh: 1.9 MiB, 1966080 bytes, 3840 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disklabel type: dos Disk identifier: 0x00000000 Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type /dev/sdh1 * 32768 250085375 250052608 119.2G 7 HPFS/NTFS/exFAT ------------------------------------------------------------------ root@host:/dev# ls -la /dev/ | grep sdh brw-rw---- 1 root disk 8, 112 Jun 7 13:46 sdh ------------------------------------------------------------------ parted -l Model: Generic USB SD Reader (scsi) Disk /dev/sdh: 1966kB Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B Partition Table: msdos Disk Flags: Number Start End Size Type File system Flags 1 16.8MB 128GB 128GB primary boot dmesg | tail [ 5479.652055] usb 2-1.6: USB disconnect, device number 7 [ 5484.971560] usb 2-1.6: new high-speed USB device number 8 using ehci-pci [ 5485.253163] usb 2-1.6: New USB device found, idVendor=1307, idProduct=0330 [ 5485.253170] usb 2-1.6: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3 [ 5485.253175] usb 2-1.6: Product: Mass Storage Device [ 5485.253178] usb 2-1.6: Manufacturer: Generic [ 5485.253182] usb 2-1.6: SerialNumber: 00000000000006 [ 5485.253681] usb-storage 2-1.6:1.0: USB Mass Storage device detected [ 5485.254822] scsi host9: usb-storage 2-1.6:1.0 [ 5486.252509] scsi 9:0:0:0: Direct-Access Generic USB CF Reader 0.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 5487.117817] scsi 9:0:0:1: Direct-Access Generic USB SD Reader 0.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 5487.118642] scsi 9:0:0:2: Direct-Access Generic USB MS Reader 0.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 5487.119441] scsi 9:0:0:3: Direct-Access Generic USB SM Reader 0.00 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 [ 5487.120291] sd 9:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg7 type 0 [ 5487.120628] sd 9:0:0:1: Attached scsi generic sg8 type 0 [ 5487.120917] sd 9:0:0:2: Attached scsi generic sg9 type 0 [ 5487.121289] sd 9:0:0:3: Attached scsi generic sg10 type 0 [ 5487.122089] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] 3840 512-byte logical blocks: (1.97 MB/1.88 MiB) [ 5487.125320] sd 9:0:0:2: [sdi] Attached SCSI removable disk [ 5487.125955] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] Write Protect is off [ 5487.125959] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] Mode Sense: 03 00 00 00 [ 5487.127195] sd 9:0:0:3: [sdj] Attached SCSI removable disk [ 5487.128440] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] No Caching mode page found [ 5487.128444] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] Assuming drive cache: write through [ 5487.137092] sd 9:0:0:0: [sdg] Attached SCSI removable disk [ 5487.142479] sdh: sdh1 [ 5487.142484] sdh: p1 start 32768 is beyond EOD, enabling native capacity [ 5487.145851] sdh: sdh1 [ 5487.145856] sdh: p1 start 32768 is beyond EOD, truncated [ 5487.148318] sd 9:0:0:1: [sdh] Attached SCSI removable disk -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1644981 Title: ExFAT Formatted SD Cards not mounted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1644981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
