Public bug reported:
Labels for some items in Gnome Control Center are too long to fit on a single
line.
As a result they must continue onto a second line.
ISSUE:
Labels do not break at work boundaries. Instead, they break in the middle of
words.
(See attached screenshot).
Examples:
Region & Lan
guage
Mouse & Touch
pad
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
Labels should break at work boundaries (i.e. spaces between words).
Examples:
Region &
Language
Mouse &
Touchpad
(If a word is too long and must break in the middle, then conventional
word hyphenation rules should be applied, or an exception may be made to
keep the code simple. This may occur if new items with very long names
are added to the control center in the future, or for accessibility
reasons where very large fonts are used).
ADDITIONAL INFO:
The font used in the screenshots is Liberation Sans Regular 10.
(However, the word wrapping behavior should be independent of the font and size
used).
