Public bug reported:

I have Ubuntu 7.10 LiveCD. After boot I executed graphical configuration
utility for X and installed nvidia driver because compiz doesn't work without
it. Then I was suggested to reboot my live system and after this procedure I've
got a clean Ubuntu 7.10 again, with no drivers installed :)))
Why it tries to reboot all operating system instead of terminating X and
relogining by gdm? Only "kill -HUP `pidof X`" helped me to get working Ubuntu
with new drivers and without reboot.

** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
