Public bug reported:
Fact: I have all kinds of grub / boot problems lately: after installing
(k)ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10 to /dev/sda3, there is no or no correct Grub
menu and I can't boot into the (k)ubuntu on sda1 and/or sda3.
Hypothesis: the problem is caused by the fact a PATA drive is connected
to /dev/hda. Apparently the mbr / grub installer is confused by the
/dev/hda, and/or installing grub menu to the wrong drive.
First check seems to confirm this: after disconnecting the PATA
/dev/hda, a new 7.10 install to /dev/sda3 perfeclty appears flawlessy in
the renewed Grub-menu, next to the other (k)ubuntu.
