Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cupsys
Maybe a dupe of one of the many other CUPS installation bugs (#130676 ?), but looking through them I didn't find an exact match (different versions or different exit status). On an by-the-book (first complete update using update manager, then clicking the "A new distribution.." thing). upgrade to 7.10, first I got a: "Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/cupsys_1.3.2-1ubuntu7_i386.deb' The upgrade will continue but the '/var/cache/apt/archives/cupsys_1.3.2-1ubuntu7_i386.deb' package may be in a not working state. Please consider submitting a bugreport about it. subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1" Then the installer continued until later I got a: "Could not install 'cupsys' The upgrade will continue but the 'cupsys' package may be in a not working state. Please consider submitting a bugreport about it. package cupsys is already installed and configured" Again the installation continued, but later things got really out of hand and the installation quit on me: http://www.klopper.net/~eddy/images/ubuntu710fail1.png ProblemType: Package Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Oct 20 11:09:56 2007 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10 ErrorMessage: ErrorMessage: subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Package: cupsys 1.2.8-0ubuntu8 PackageArchitecture: i386 SourcePackage: cupsys Title: package cupsys 1.2.8-0ubuntu8 failed to install/upgrade: Uname: Linux laptop 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Sun Sep 23 19:50:39 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: cupsys (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package -- package cupsys 1.2.8-0ubuntu8 failed to install/upgrade: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154827 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
