Was that happening before the update to 5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2 ?
Can you try to downgrade to 5.1.2-0ubuntu1 (which is in the archives) and see
if the problem is reproducible?
Does that happen with all text documents, or just a specific one? With
all fonts, or just a specific font family?
