On my Ubuntu 17.04 (also happened on 16.10, upgraded to 17.10 that same
machine) the bug it's happening to me. My current workaround is to use
an equivalent 'openconnect'.

Command issued in my case:

    sudo openconnect --user my-vpn-user --csd-user my-local-unix-user
--csd-wrapper ~/csd-wrapper-download.sh --authgroup GROUP_OF_VPN
https://remote.corporate.network.com

Another workaround I'm using is to put the internal VPNs IPs on
/etc/hosts
