Public bug reported:

When running a privileged application, such as Synaptic, under gnome-flashback
an Authenticate dialog box pops up.
After I upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04,
the Password box and Authenticate button are now incorrectly greyed out.
I discovered a simple but very annoying workaround:
if I pull down and select a different user
then pull down a second time to select myself,
the Password box and Authenticate button are no longer greyed out
and I can successfully authenticate.

The "Details" pull down in the Authenticate box shows
"Action: com.ubuntu.pkexec.synaptic" and "Vendor:".

This bug showed up after upgrading,
and might not be directly related to the upgrade,
but possibly due to uninstalling alternate desktops (Xubuntu and Lubuntu.)

** Affects: gnome-flashback (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
