Public bug reported: When running a privileged application, such as Synaptic, under gnome-flashback an Authenticate dialog box pops up. After I upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04, the Password box and Authenticate button are now incorrectly greyed out. I discovered a simple but very annoying workaround: if I pull down and select a different user then pull down a second time to select myself, the Password box and Authenticate button are no longer greyed out and I can successfully authenticate.
The "Details" pull down in the Authenticate box shows "Action: com.ubuntu.pkexec.synaptic" and "Vendor:". This bug showed up after upgrading, and might not be directly related to the upgrade, but possibly due to uninstalling alternate desktops (Xubuntu and Lubuntu.) ** Affects: gnome-flashback (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1698994 Title: Authentication Agent "Authenticate" button incorrectly greyed out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-flashback/+bug/1698994/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
