I've tried this on a lenovo thinkpad x230 and the test slides produce a
screen-tearing effect (horizontal, jagged, flickering bar of
transparency) rather than a smooth transition. The errors reported were:

javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
Warning: failed to read path from javaldx

(soffice:5658): Gtk-WARNING **: Allocating size to OOoFixed
0x563ed1b02270 without calling gtk_widget_get_preferred_width/height().
How does the code know the size to allocate?

[the last repeatedly]

This is on a live session of ubuntu 17.04 with no updates or alterations.
This machine has Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller
(rev 09)
