I've tried this on a lenovo thinkpad x230 and the test slides produce a screen-tearing effect (horizontal, jagged, flickering bar of transparency) rather than a smooth transition. The errors reported were:

How does the code know the size to allocate? [the last repeatedly] This is on a live session of ubuntu 17.04 with no updates or alterations.
