Public bug reported:
After setting up a dual head Xinerama display on an ATI 9600 Radeon with
proprietary drivers (1680x1050 + 1280x1024 lcd panels) the mouse pointer is
corrupt on the secondary display - it shows up as a random block of garbled
graphics.
Several forums suggested setting SWCursor to "true" under my device section in
xorg.conf - this did in fact correct the pointer on the secondary screen, but
caused severe random graphic artifacts on and around the cursor. both screens
where affected by this. Enabling or disabling the composite extension had no
affect as well.
I encountered similar mouse corruption on SuSE 10.3 with the same
proprietary driver, so I tend to believe this is somehow driver related.
System:
ATI Radeon 9600 128MB
MSI 845E Max MB w/ Intel P2 2.4 processor and 512MB ram.
Software
Ubuntu Gusty 7.10
fglrx 8.37.6
