Public bug reported:

Hi,

Just ran into an issue where snapd fails to install:

| ubuntu@juju-blah-3:~$ sudo apt-get install snapd
| Reading package lists... Done
| Building dependency tree
| Reading state information... Done
| Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
| requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
| distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
| or been moved out of Incoming.
| The following information may help to resolve the situation:
|
| The following packages have unmet dependencies:
| snapd : Depends: systemd (>= 204-5ubuntu20.20) but it is not going to be
installed
| E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

The systemd version it wants is available though:

| ubuntu@juju-blah-3:~$ apt-cache policy snapd systemd
| snapd:
| Installed: (none)
| Candidate: 2.25~14.04
| Version table:
| 2.25~14.04 0
| 500 http://nova.clouds.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/
trusty-updates/universe amd64 Packages
| systemd:
| Installed: (none)
| Candidate: 204-5ubuntu20.24
| Version table:
| 204-5ubuntu20.24 0
| 500 http://nova.clouds.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main
amd64 Packages

So if I manually install systemd, I'm able to then install snapd.

| ubuntu@juju-blah-3:~$ sudo apt-get install systemd snapd
