[Bug 1700998] [NEW] package nginx-core (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Public bug reported:

I removed Nginx using apt-get remove and verified with dpkg -l | grep
nginx

Then I installed Nginx w/ModSecurity from source into /usr/local

I hadn't rebooted yet and my uptime was a few days...
Then suddenly this morning, the drive just spun up and locked the computer
Complete freeze, couldn't access keyboard, mouse, anything -- powered off & 
rebooted

Got this error message and reported bug as something is not quite right
here

Please look at logs and let's discuss why this happened
