Kai, Thank you very much for looking into this and answering questions. Kudos! I think the behavior should remain as it is if the output volume is reduced that much AND support for microphone devices is crippled. My arguments: It is still better to hear the hiss when music is at low volume than have low output volume enforced (on high output volume you do not notice the hiss) and additionally lose some functionality.
