I can confirm that this fil is still present in unity-lens-applications 7.1.0+16.10.20160927-0ubuntu2 on Ubuntu artful, based on [1]. Interestingly enough, language-pack-gnome-da-base contains a unity-lens- applications.mo file, albeit in a different directory [2].
