Yes, this wishlist item still exists. It still does not work on GG.
I know I can use showkey to detect key signals, and bug 121962 works for
the special buttons on the P1510D.
Is there a program to show mouse signals? I'm wondering if, perhaps,
the fingerprint reader is sending a signal and that X is just not
recognising it as a mouse one.
