I confirm the same issue when installing from the Gutsy 7.10 Server
Edition CD on a VIA EPIA-M10000 (should be same cpu/chipset of the
EK10000G).

The install goes fine but at the first reboot I get the "cpu too old"
message. The kernel image is linux-image-2.6.22-14-server.

I booted from a livecd, chroot in the install, installed linux-
image-2.6.22-14-generic.

Booting with that kernel works without problems, so the issue really is
with the -server kernel image, not with the 2.6.22 sources.

Don't know if it could be related, but a similar problem exists with
6.06.1 LTS, the 'server' kernel won't boot (this time without any
message, it just freeze) and the 686 kernel works.
