No, it can't be done like that.  What you are looking for is to update
the version in trusty (? just update a bit?), thus an SRU, rather than a
sync from unstable to the development version of ubuntu (for a package
that is already in sync from unstable)—which requestsync is for.

I invite you to read http://wiki.ubuntu.com/SRU - keeping in mind that
such huge upstream updates in a stable release might not be so welcome.
