You can test LyX's development version (do not use for any serious work and expect the worst) by using this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~lyx-devel/+archive/ubuntu/daily Install the lyx2.3pre package. Whether it fixes the issues or does not fix the issues, the developers would be very interested in knowing.
