Maybe this is a gedit bug?
Steps to reproduce
Log in to an X session - this doesn't seem to affect Wayland session.
Open GNOME Terminal
Open Gedit
Click Open
Click on the "Other documents" option at the bottom of the menu
Notice that the click doesn't happen on the "other docs" button, but passes
through to underneath.
You can see this demonstrated in the attached video.
