Does this still occur on Ubuntu 17.04 "Zesty Zapus" with vlc
2.2.4-14ubuntu2.1 ? If you are able to test on Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful
Aardvark" with vlc 2.2.6-3build1 that would be even better.
