Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu better.
I've confirmed this issue with weirdx 1.0.32-6 on Ubuntu Artful. It also seems like a rebuild fixes the issue (at least a window appears then). I suspect some underlying library has been updated at some point in the past without weirdx being rebuilt in the mean time. Forwarded the issue to the Debian maintainer (see the attached bug watch), which might know more. Also checked with some older versions of Ubuntu, and ran into the same issue on 14.04, so it looks like it has been here for a while. Hopefully it is easily fixable by rebuilding the current development release of Ubuntu and then applying a rebuild for all older, currently supported releases. ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #869482 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=869482 ** Also affects: weirdx (Debian) via https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=869482 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: weirdx (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: artful trusty xenial zesty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1704670 Title: On startup, weirdx quits with this message : Error!
