Well, I'm not an expert in the interplay between the intel bios and ubuntu. But it would certainly have saved me a lot of troubles and time, if I from the start had known that I shouldn't have used the latest bios in order to get ubuntu to work properly. There is no information about this on the intel page, which is very windows oriented.
