Public bug reported: Hey guys,
as per reported in the summary, the /var/run symlink causes problems for systemd when installing redis-server on 17.04. I reported this bug earlier to systemd devs, and it just surfaced that the problem is the /var/run symlink. here the github issue, please have a read: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/6318 Systemd is also aiming to fix this issue on their behalf, but as per the issue, specifying "ReadWriteDirectories=-/run/redis" in the ubuntu package would fix this issue probably earlier.
