I have exactly the same Notebook (Dell Latitude D620, NVidia Quadro NVS 110M) and the same problems as Linus Harling with Ubuntu Gutsy.
I've tried the workaround from bug# 123104, now Suspend2RAM works most of the time. Suspend2Disk still does not work with this workaround, it doesn't shut's down.
