Ubuntu 16.04 comes with gcc >=5.3 by default.
The error suggests a gcc-4 (or even lower).
gcc versions 4.7-4.9 are available as extra packages.
I'd assume that these were installed and set up as default compiler?
@Ryosuke - is that (or something comparable) the case?
