Public bug reported:

OS: Ubuntu Gutsy amd64
Hardware: Dell Inspiron E1505n (can provide specific details if necessary)

I use the Brightness Applet to set the brightness to a specific value
(let's just say 75%). I later use [Fn + Down Arrow] to lower the
brightness to be below 75%. Within a few minutes, the brightness
automatically reverts to 75%, the level originally set by the Brightness
Applet.

I can't determine the frequency. It seems that the Brightness will only
revert to the level set in Brightness Applet once per boot, and that any
[Fn + Down] modifications made after that will not revert.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
