Public bug reported:

I am using ubuntu gutsy gibbon.

During normal usage of my computer (with compiz turned on), I am
experiencing strange spikes in CPU usage in various lengths at various
intervals. xorg is what is causing these spikes. Usually it's either at
50% or 100% cpu usage. As a result I get a non-responsive computer. It
works, but the framerate becomes very bad, allmost unusable. At other
times the CPU usage is normal. I am using restricted nVidia drivers.

Motherboard: Intel DP965LT

RAM: 2 GB dual channel
Video Card: PNY NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 160GB 7200 RPM SATA
