also, you might want to chase it a bit further down, I think we've got:
qemu-file-channel.c:channel_get_buffer
io/channel-socket.c or io/channel-file.c qio_channel_file_readv
it would be good to know what the readv/readmsg is actually
returning in the case where it's failing.
