Hi vihaan, I haven't found more on this in your log but it seems you are changing between mariadb and mysql here.
>From the log: Aborting downgrade from (at least) 10.1 to 5.7. While generally ok this can cause all kind of trouble, but since I didn't see a mariadb in your dpdkHistory I wonder what the source of that is - was that maybe not a packaged mariadb from the Ubuntu archive? In any case you might want to remove the traces of mariadb (wherever they came from) and install mysql then. Normally (a mariadb from archive) those two would conflict and remove mariadb before installing mysql. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1711902 Title: package mysql-server-5.7 (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1711902/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
